About
Grace Hayle (July 24, 1888 – March 20, 1963) was an American actress whose career spanned stage and screen. Over the course of her professional life, she appeared in more than 300 films.
Before establishing herself on Broadway, Hayle was active in regional theater. In the fall of 1917, she served as the leading woman for the Knickerbocker Players at the Knickerbocker Theatre in Philadelphia, where she took on the role of Laura Murdock in a production of The Easiest Way.
Her Broadway career extended from 1918 to 1946 and included two credited productions. She made her Broadway debut with Double Exposure in 1918, and nearly three decades later returned to the New York stage in The Duchess Misbehaves in 1946.
Hayle died on March 20, 1963, at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital at the age of 74.
