About
Gloria Marshall (August 27, 1931 – December 18, 1994) was an American actress whose career spanned stage, television, and film across several decades. Born in 1931, she worked in multiple entertainment mediums before her death in 1994.
Marshall made her Broadway appearance in 1944, taking part in a production of Robin Hood. Her stage work came early in her career, preceding the television and film roles that would define much of her professional life in the following decade.
During the 1950s, Marshall became a recognizable presence on American television, appearing primarily in supporting and guest roles across a range of programs. Among her television credits was a 1954 appearance in the anthology series Death Valley Days, hosted by Stanley Andrews. In the episode titled "Husband Pro-Tem," Marshall portrayed Evelyn Phelps alongside Jock Mahoney, who starred as engineer Andy Prentis. She also appeared on The Beverly Hillbillies, Sea Hunt, and The Bob Cummings Show, accumulating a body of work in episodic television during that era.
Her film career included two screen appearances. In 1955 she was part of the cast of Escape to Burma, followed by a role in Roadracers in 1959. Together, her stage, television, and film credits reflect a career that moved across different formats of American entertainment during the mid-twentieth century.
