Giuseppe Bausilio

Giuseppe Bausilio is a Swiss actor, dancer, and singer born on June 20, 1997, in Bern, Switzerland. His professional career began in his hometown, where he performed in multiple operas and ballets at the Bern Theatre and Theater im Kafigturm. During this period he also accumulated an extensive competition record, earning placements at events including the Youth America Grand Prix World Ballet Competition, the Jazz Competition Bern, the Concour Le Chausson in Paris, and the MAB Maria Antonietta Berlusconi International Ballet Award in Milan.

A third-place finish at a dance competition led to an audition for the title role in Billy Elliot the Musical, which Bausilio won. He entered the Chicago production alongside Cesar Corrales, Tommy Batchelor, and J.P. Viernes, remaining with that company through October 10, 2010. He then transitioned to the National Tour, where he shared the role of Billy with Michael Dameski, Kylend Hetherington, Lex Ishimoto, and Daniel Patrick Russell.

In May 2011, Bausilio was announced as the replacement for Jacob Clemente in the Broadway production of Billy Elliot the Musical. He made his Broadway debut that July and continued with the show through November 6, 2011. His Broadway career subsequently included appearances in Newsies, where he began performing as Race on October 7, 2013, and later took on the role of Davey in the same production. He went on to appear in additional Broadway productions including Cats, Hello, Dolly!, and Hamilton, with his Broadway activity spanning from 2008 to 2024.

Beyond the stage, Bausilio starred as Alfie in the fourth season of the Canadian drama television series The Next Step. He also played the lead role of Michael Fiorelli in the independent musical feature film Ode to Passion, which was released exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on July 10, 2020.
