Gino Conforti is an American actor born on January 30, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, of Italian descent. Working across theatre, film, and television, he built a career spanning several decades that included notable Broadway appearances, recurring television roles, and voice work in animation.
Conforti's Broadway career ran from 1962 to 1971. He made his Broadway debut in A Family Affair in 1962, and his subsequent stage credits included Poor Bitos, Never Live Over a Pretzel Factory, and She Loves Me Not. He also played the role of the Barber in Man of La Mancha, which marked his final Broadway credit. The external biography additionally notes that Conforti played the Fiddler in Fiddler on the Roof before leaving that production to join the cast of Poor Bitos.
On screen, Conforti began his film career in 1968 with an appearance in How Sweet It Is. He is perhaps most widely recognized for his recurring role as kitchen helper and chef Felipe Gomez on the television sitcom Three's Company, a role he also reprised in that capacity. His television work extended to five episodes of That Girl, as well as appearances in the soap operas Mary Hartman Mary Hartman, General Hospital, Santa Barbara, and Days of Our Lives. He guest-starred across a broad range of television programs, including Get Smart, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Mod Squad, The Waltons, Mama's Family, The Flying Nun, Happy Days, Quincy M.E., The Partridge Family, Columbo, Here's Lucy, The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, The Fall Guy, The Jeffersons, Simon and Simon, Family Matters, Night Court, and It Takes a Thief. Conforti also appeared in numerous television commercials throughout his career.
In addition to his on-screen work, Conforti provided the voice of Jacquimo the swallow, performed with a French accent, in the Don Bluth animated film Thumbelina.
