George Reinholt

George Kilpatrick Reinholt (August 22, 1940 – November 11, 2013) was an American actor born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His career spanned stage and television, with work on Broadway and a sustained presence in daytime soap operas.

Reinholt's Broadway career ran from 1966 to 1979 and included appearances in Cabaret and The Grand Tour. His television work began in 1967, when he took on the role of Erik Fulda on The Secret Storm, a part he held for approximately one year. That role led to the two performances for which he became most widely recognized: Steve Frame on Another World, which he played from 1968 to 1975, and Tony Harris Lord on One Life to Live, a role he held from 1975 to 1977.

Following his departure from daytime television, Reinholt stepped away from acting and stated his intention not to return to the profession. He broke from that position on at least one occasion, appearing briefly in Another World's 25th anniversary broadcast in 1989. In the mid-1990s he again considered returning to the medium and tested for roles, but was not cast.

In 1997, Reinholt placed an advertisement in a local newspaper offering to escort women to social events. Coverage of the ad in some outlets suggested a sexual dimension to the arrangement, a characterization Reinholt disputed. He appeared on the Sally Jessy Raphael talk show to address the matter publicly.

Reinholt died of cancer on November 11, 2013, at his home in Essington, Pennsylvania. He was 73 years old.
