George N. Martin (August 15, 1929 – June 1, 2010) was an American actor whose work spanned stage, television, and film. A native of New York, New York, Martin built a career across multiple decades and performance mediums, earning recognition in each.
His Broadway career extended from 1970 to 1995 and included a range of notable productions. Among his stage credits were Pack of Lies, Racing Demon, On the Waterfront, and Broken Glass. His 1983 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play recognized his performance in David Hare's Plenty. Outside of New York, Martin was a regular presence at Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island.
Beyond the stage, Martin maintained an active screen career in both film and television. He is perhaps most widely recognized by general audiences for his portrayal of the hotel receptionist in the 1994 film Léon: The Professional.
