About
Geno Silva was an American actor born on January 20, 1948, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Jerry Silva Sr. and Lucille, née Chavez. He grew up in the Barelas neighborhood of Albuquerque alongside his brother Jerry Jr. and sister Liz. Silva died on May 9, 2020, at his home in Los Angeles from complications of frontotemporal degeneration, a form of dementia he had lived with for 15 years.
Silva's career spanned stage and screen. In 1979, he appeared on Broadway in Zoot Suit, a production that brought him to the New York stage. His film work earned him wider recognition, most notably through his portrayal of The Skull, the silent hitman working for Alejandro Sosa, in Scarface.
Beyond that role, Silva accumulated a range of film credits that included 1941, Tequila Sunrise, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Amistad, Mulholland Drive, and A Man Apart.
In his personal life, Silva was married to Pamela Phillips, and the couple had one daughter, Lucia.
