Garrett M. Brown is an American character actor born on November 7, 1948, in Michigan, who later grew up in Connecticut. In 1972, he relocated to New York City, where he supported himself working as an orderly in a nursing home and as a waiter before pursuing formal acting training.

Brown made his Broadway appearance in 1979 in the musical Whoopee!. His stage work in New York preceded a career that would extend into film and television across several decades.

On screen, Brown became widely recognized for his role as John Whitsig in the television series Sisters, a part he held from 1991 to 1996. His film credits include the role of Bob Russell in Uncle Buck (1989) and James Lizewski in Kick-Ass (2010) and its sequel Kick-Ass 2 (2013). He took on the title role in Hello, My Name Is Frank (2014), a performance that earned him the Best Actor Award at the Manhattan Film Festival.
