Gale Dixon

Gale Dixon was an American actress and singer whose career in theatre, television, and film spanned from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s. Her Broadway work extended from 1965 to 1971 and encompassed three productions.

Dixon made her Broadway debut in 1966 playing Francine in The Impossible Years, a play written by Robert Fisher and Arthur Marx. Two years later she returned to Broadway in the original production of Jimmy Shine, written by John Sebastian, taking on the role of Millie alongside cast members Dustin Hoffman and Rue McClanahan. In 1970, Dixon appeared on Broadway for a third time in Coco, the musical by Alan Jay Lerner and André Previn, portraying the character Noelle in a production that starred Katharine Hepburn.

Her screen work began in 1969 with the film The Tree, in which she played Lorry, the mother of a kidnapped child. On television, she guest starred in the episode "Bertha" of the series Nichols in 1972. She later appeared in the 1975 television movie Katherine, a production that also featured Sissy Spacek and Henry Winkler.
