Stanton built a substantial screen career across the silent film era, accumulating roles in numerous productions throughout the 1910s and 1920s. His film appearances include Daredevil Kate (1916), in which he played Bently, and The Great Secret (1917), where he portrayed a character billed as The Great Master. In the latter film, he portrayed a Native American character and performed a knife fight scene opposite the film's star.
His 1923 screen appearances included Little Church Around the Corner as The Sheriff, A Million to Burn as Langden, Canyon of the Fools as Jim Harper and Polhill, Trifling with Honor as Lute Clotz, and Danger Ahead.
