About

Frankie Thomas had a film career spanning 35 movies, among them "A Dog of Flanders," "Tim Tyler's Luck" (in the title role), "Boys Town," and "The Major and the Minor," along with several Nancy Drew pictures opposite Bonita Granville. Five years in the Navy during World War II followed. Back in New York after his tour of duty, he worked steadily in radio, logging over 1,500 shows. As dramatic radio waned, Frankie Thomas transitioned to television, making guest appearances on shows of the era including "Studio One" and the first five-days-a-week soap opera, "A Woman to Remember." His stage work and experience on a daily show were what he credited with landing him the lead in "Tom Corbett, Space Cadet" in 1950. Not long after the "Tom Corbett" series concluded, Frankie Thomas left acting to teach bridge.
