Frank James Robert Perfitt was a British actor born in Norwich, Norfolk in 1880. He worked across both stage and screen during his career, appearing in Broadway productions as well as a substantial number of British films. He died in Surrey in 1958.
Perfitt made his Broadway appearance in 1909, performing in the musical Kitty Grey. His stage work extended to the United States during a period when British performers frequently crossed the Atlantic to appear in American theatrical productions.
His film career spanned from the silent era into the sound period, with screen appearances beginning in 1924. Among his silent film credits are The Flying Fifty-Five, Love and Hate, and The Sins Ye Do, all from 1924, followed by Nelson in 1926. He appeared in several productions in 1928, including Dawn, What Next?, and Maria Marten, as well as The Silent House, The Celestial City, The Woman in White, and Alf's Carpet in 1929. As the industry transitioned to sound, Perfitt continued working, appearing in Night Birds, Red Pearls, You'd Be Surprised!, and Compromising Daphne in 1930. His early sound credits also include The Love Race and Number, Please from 1931 and Tonight's the Night from 1932. He remained active into the mid-1930s and beyond, with The Pride of the Force in 1933, Keep Your Seats, Please in 1936, and Feather Your Nest in 1937.
