Frank Currier (September 4, 1857 – April 22, 1928) was an American actor and director born in Norwich, Connecticut, whose career spanned both the stage and silent film. He worked as a performer and director across the Victorian and Edwardian eras, building a stage foundation before transitioning to film work in his fifties.
Currier's Broadway career extended from 1900 to 1913 and encompassed a range of productions. His stage credits included Quo Vadis (1900), The Winter's Tale (1904), Twelfth Night (1904), Way Down East (1905), This Woman and This Man (1909), The Gay Life (1909), Beethoven (1910), The Aviator (1910), An Old New Yorker (1911), and Poor Little Ritz Girl (1913).
His film career began around 1912, and he went on to appear in more than 130 films through 1928. In 1916 he also directed 19 films. Among his screen roles, he is particularly noted for his performance in the 1925 production Ben-Hur, in which he played the Roman Admiral who adopts Judah Ben-Hur, portrayed by Ramon Novarro, after Ben-Hur rescues him during a naval battle.
