Frank Campeau was an American actor born on December 14, 1864, in Detroit, Michigan. His career spanned both stage and screen, and he remained active in the entertainment industry for several decades before his death on November 5, 1943, at the Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.
Campeau's Broadway career extended from 1904 to 1916 and included four productions. His first Broadway appearance came in The Virginian in 1904. He returned to the stage in 1913 with two productions that year, Believe Me, Xantippe and The Ghost Breaker. His final Broadway credit was Rio Grande in 1916.
His screen career began with the one-reel western Kit Carson's Wooing and grew to encompass more than 90 films made between 1911 and 1940. Among his notable film work were multiple appearances alongside Douglas Fairbanks.
