About
Faye Grant is an American actress born on July 16, 1957, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, where her father served as a police officer. A 1975 graduate of Lake Shore High School, she took her professional name from the street on which she grew up.
Grant's television career began with a recurring role as Rhonda Blake, one of the students of Ralph Hinkley, on The Greatest American Hero. She went on to achieve wider recognition through the NBC science fiction franchise V, portraying Juliet Parrish in the 1983 miniseries, its 1984 sequel V: The Final Battle, and the subsequent series V: The Series, which ran through 1985. Additional television appearances include guest roles on The Incredible Hulk, the pilot episode of Voyagers! as Mary Murphy, Hardcastle and McCormick, Tales From the Crypt, and Time of Your Life. She appeared regularly on State of Grace from 2001 to 2002 as Tattie McKee, and guest-starred as Abigail Morris in the 7th Heaven episode "What Will People Say?", which aired on November 11, 1996. Grant first encountered actor Stephen Collins during production of the television series Tales of the Gold Monkey in the early 1980s, and the two later appeared together again on 7th Heaven and in the 1999 film Drive Me Crazy.
Her film work includes The January Man (1989), Internal Affairs (1990), Omen IV: The Awakening (1991), Drive Me Crazy (1999), and Public Affairs (2017).
Grant's Broadway career spanned 1985 to 1986 and produced two notable credits. She originated the role of the vocally challenged Lina Lamont in the 1985 stage adaptation of Singin' in the Rain, a performance that earned her the Theatre World Award in 1986 and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical. The following year, she appeared in director Jerry Zaks' Lincoln Center-to-Broadway revival of John Guare's The House of Blue Leaves, playing the deaf Corinna Stroller, a role she took on following Julie Hagerty and Patricia Clarkson.
Grant married Stephen Collins in New York City in April 1985. The couple have one daughter, Kate. In 2012, Grant recorded a marriage counseling session without the knowledge of Collins or the therapist, during which Collins confessed to having sexually abused children. The recording was subsequently leaked, after which Collins publicly admitted to the abuse and issued an apology. A police investigation followed, and their divorce was finalized in January 2015.
