Evelyn Dall

Evelyn Dall, born Evelyn Mildred Fuss on January 8, 1918, in The Bronx, New York City, was an American singer and actress. She adopted her stage surname from that of two grandchildren of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Dall died on March 10, 2010, in Phoenix, Arizona, following an extended illness, at the age of 92.

Dall launched her career through short films and supporting roles on Broadway, appearing in the 1935 production of Parade. That same year, she was invited to join Bert Ambrose and his Orchestra in the United Kingdom as their female vocalist, a position she held until 1946. During her years in Britain, she earned the nickname "Original Blonde Bombshell."

Alongside her work with Ambrose, Dall appeared in a series of British musical films. These included Soft Lights and Sweet Music (1936), Calling All Stars (1937), Sing as You Swing (1937), Kicking the Moon Around (1938), He Found a Star (1941), King Arthur Was a Gentleman (1942), Miss London Ltd. (1943), and Time Flies (1944). Her London stage work during this period included Present Arms (1940), Something for the Boys (1944), and the London production of Follow the Girls (1945).

In 1946, Dall returned to the United States, where she married and raised a daughter and a son. After being widowed in 1974, she relocated to Jupiter, Florida, in 1980, and later moved to Arizona in 2002.
