In 2017 he co-produced the ESPYs and produced a live Facebook event titled Stand For Rights: A Benefit for the ACLU with Tom Hanks, earning a Primetime Emmy nomination for that work. That same year, Jonigkeit partnered with actress Zosia Mamet and Refinery29 to produce the anthology series Fabled.
Jonigkeit starred in the Starz drama Sweetbitter, based on the novel of the same name, playing Will, a backwaiter who trains and befriends the central character Tess. The series premiered on May 6, 2018, and ran through 2019. In 2020 he appeared in the horror films The Night House and The Empty Man. He subsequently starred in the Netflix series Archive 81 as Samuel Davenport, a primary antagonist, with all eight episodes of the first season released on January 14, 2022.
