About

Erin Davie is an American actress and singer born on June 18, 1977, in Nashville, Tennessee. She trained at the Boston Conservatory, where she earned a BFA in musical theater. Before reaching Broadway, Davie performed on the national tours of Swing! and The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, and appeared in the Off-Broadway production Infertility.

Davie made her Broadway debut in Grey Gardens, which opened at the Walter Kerr Theatre in November 2006. She portrayed the young Edie Beale in the production, which had previously run Off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons. The role earned her a Theatre World Award in 2007. That same year, she took on the role of Isabella Andreini in Lincoln Center Theater's production of The Glorious Ones, and appeared as Eve Harrington in the New York City Center Encores! staged concert production of Applause, which ran February 7–10, 2007. On February 15, 2008, she joined the Broadway production of Curtains in the role of Niki Harris.

In 2009, Davie played Countess Charlotte Malcolm in the Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music, again at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Regional work during this period included the world premiere of A Time to Kill at Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., in May and June 2011.

Davie originated the role of Violet in the revised production of Sideshow, first at the La Jolla Playhouse in November and December 2013, then at the Kennedy Center from June through July 2014. The production transferred to Broadway in November 2014, with Davie reprising the role, and closed on January 4, 2015. She subsequently appeared in reunion concerts with cast members at 54 Below in New York City. In 2017, she appeared in the Broadway revival of Sunday in the Park with George, playing Yvonne/Naomi at the Hudson Theatre, where the production ran from February 23 to April 23, directed by Sarna Lapine.

Davie portrayed Camilla Parker Bowles in the world premiere of Diana at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2019, then reprised the role for the Broadway production, which began previews on March 2, 2020. The production was suspended on March 12, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before being remounted on November 17, 2021, and closing on December 19, 2021. A film capture of the Broadway production was released on Netflix on October 1, 2021, and Davie received a Golden Raspberry Award nomination for Worst Supporting Actress for her performance. She also appeared in The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Guys and Dolls during her Broadway career. Outside of theater, her screen credits include the film King Jack (2015), the television series Orange Is the New Black (2014), and the film Easter Mysteries (2016).
