Erich Bergen

Erich Bergen is an American actor born on December 31, 1985, in New York, New York. He trained at the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Center in Loch Sheldrake, New York, where he spent seven years before continuing his studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.

Bergen built his early career across stage and screen. He played Bob Gaudio in the 2008 Las Vegas production of Jersey Boys and later reprised that role in Clint Eastwood's 2014 film adaptation of the show. In 2012, he performed as Billy in the US national tour of Anything Goes. His television work includes appearances on Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, Person of Interest, and Franklin & Bash. From 2014 through 2019, he was a series regular on the CBS drama Madam Secretary, portraying Blake Moran, personal secretary to Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord, played by Téa Leoni. In 2013, Bergen was diagnosed with testicular cancer and underwent chemotherapy.

Bergen made his Broadway debut in June 2018, playing Dr. Jim Pomatter in Waitress, a role he held until August of that year. He returned to the same production as Dr. Pomatter from June 4 through July 21, 2019, and came back again following the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 for a limited engagement. He went on to play Billy Flynn in Chicago during 2022 and 2023. Bergen's Broadway credits also include An American Daughter and BOOP! The Musical, with his work on the New York stage spanning from 1996 to 2025.
