About

Eric Lange is an American character actor born on February 19, 1973, in Hamilton, Ohio, where he attended Fairfield High School before going on to earn a degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He has Danish ancestry and currently resides in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, with his wife, Lisa Sabatino, whom he married on November 9, 2013. The couple has two children.

Lange's screen career began in 1996 with a small role as a singing waiter in High School High. He subsequently appeared in three episodes of the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful in 1998, followed by guest roles on Angel in 2001 and Firefly in 2002. Throughout the mid-2000s he accumulated appearances on CSI, The Bernie Mac Show, Without a Trace, The Shield, The West Wing, Cold Case, Entourage, and the short-lived NBC series Journeyman. In 2008 he appeared in Criminal Minds, Bones, and My Name Is Earl, and in 2010 he took on two episodes of Weeds, later returning to that series in a recurring role as journalist Vaughn Coleman.

Lange's television profile grew considerably with recurring and series-regular roles. From 2009 he played Stuart Radzinsky on the ABC drama Lost, and from 2010 to 2013 he portrayed the eccentric acting teacher Mr. Sikowitz on the Nickelodeon series Victorious, a role he reprised during the iCarly and Victorious crossover episode that aired on June 11, 2011. His mainstream breakthrough came in 2013 when he played the dual role of David Tate and Kenneth Hasting on the FX series The Bridge. He subsequently starred as corrupt CIA agent Bill Stechner in the Netflix crime drama Narcos beginning in 2016, a role that brought him widespread recognition. His performance as Lyle Mitchell in Showtime's Escape at Dannemora in 2018 earned him a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Movie/Miniseries. He went on to play Detective Gene Holcomb in the HBO series Perry Mason from 2020 to 2022, Lou Burke in the Netflix horror miniseries Brand New Cherry Flavor in 2021, and Byron Stallings in the Apple TV+ series Sugar in 2024.

On film, Lange appeared as Sam Larson in the independent production AM1200 in 2008 and as Andy Beyer in the Disney sports drama Secretariat in 2010. He played a cameraman in the neo-noir thriller Nightcrawler in 2014 and Dr. Silverman in the comedy-drama Danny Collins in 2015. Later film credits include Whitehurst in the neo-Western Wind River in 2017, Blake Denton in the horror film Antebellum in 2020, and Ralph Seegan in the action horror film Day Shift in 2022.

Lange made his Broadway debut in 2014 in A House in the Country, adding a stage credit to a career built predominantly in film and television.
