Emun Elliott is a Scottish actor born Emun John Mohammadi on 28 November 1983 in Edinburgh. His father is of Persian descent and his mother is Scottish. Elliott grew up in the Duddingston and Portobello areas of Edinburgh and received his secondary education at George Heriot's School. He began studying English literature and French at the University of Aberdeen but left after one year to train at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

Elliott's stage work includes an extended run as Private Fraser in Black Watch with the National Theatre of Scotland, a role he performed for two and a half years. In 2010, he played Claudio in a production of Measure for Measure at the Almeida Theatre. His Broadway debut came in 2019, when he appeared in The Rose Tattoo.

On television, Elliott's early credits include Monarch of the Glen, Feel the Force, Afterlife, and the BBC drama Paradox, in which he played the lead role of Dr. Christian King. He portrayed Jay Adams in the BBC Three drama Lip Service and made appearances in Inspector George Gently and the crime series Vera. Elliott starred as Richie in the Comedy Central sitcom Threesome, playing a gay man who gets his friend pregnant. He went on to play John Moray, a charismatic 19th-century department store owner, in the BBC One series The Paradise, and portrayed Andrew Brenner in the BBC One drama Trust Me. He later played Kenny Burns in the BBC Scotland series Guilt and Tony Brightwell in The Gold.

Elliott made his film debut in The Clan in 2009, followed by appearances in Black Death in 2010 and Strawberry Fields in 2011. He has also contributed voice work to the radio dramas Places in Between and Black Watch. In 2009, Screen International named him as one to watch.
