Emma Hunton

Emma Hunton is an American actress born in Los Angeles, California, who has worked in both television and theater. She is widely recognized for her role as Davia Moss in the drama series Good Trouble, and she appeared on Broadway between 1988 and 2010.

Hunton's path to performance began in childhood, when her mother enrolled her in a community theater group in response to bullying Hunton experienced growing up. A casting director at that theater identified her as having the talent to pursue a professional acting career. Her mother, who had her own reservations about the industry stemming from her own early entry into it, was initially hesitant about Hunton's ambitions.

In the early stages of her career, Hunton made appearances on several television series, including the sitcoms The Drew Carey Show and Sonny with a Chance, as well as the drama Judging Amy. Her Broadway work spans multiple productions, among them Next to Normal, Wicked, Les Misérables, and Spring Awakening. Hunton has described her Good Trouble character, Davia Moss, as closely resembling her own personality.

In her personal life, Hunton married chef Ryan Duval in October 2017, and the two divorced in 2021. During her time on Good Trouble, she underwent a significant physical transformation, going from 275 pounds in the first season to 142 pounds by the fourth season.
