About
Elle McLemore is an American actress originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, who has built a career across stage and screen. She was born to Gail Van Dervoort, a dancer, and Todd Vandervoort, a pyrotechnician, and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. McLemore has Irish and Japanese roots. At the age of four, she spent 18 months touring with her family as part of the Melinda: First Lady of Magic show, where her mother served as both a dancer and the magician's assistant and her father handled pyrotechnics.
McLemore attended Palo Verde High School in Las Vegas, where she took part in school productions of Grease and Peter Pan, as well as the benefit concert God Lives in Glass. She graduated in 2009 and subsequently relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a professional acting career.
Her Broadway debut came in 2012 with Bring It On: The Musical, a Tony-nominated production in which she originated the role of Eva. She also originated the role of Heather McNamara in Heathers: The Musical. In 2016, McLemore appeared in the television special Grease: Live, playing the role of Patty Simcox. She additionally appeared in the final season of the television series Army Wives.
McLemore married Josh Levinson in 2021.
