Ella Rubin is an American actress born on September 2, 2001, in New York City, where she was raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Her father, Ron Rubin, served as a CEO in the insurance industry, and her mother works as a talent manager alongside her sister, Jodi Kipperman, a casting director and the owner and president of Kipperman & Company. Rubin received her theatrical training at the Professional Children's School, where she studied theatre and performing arts. She is Jewish.

Rubin's professional career began in film at a young age, with a supporting role in the 2014 romantic comedy The Rewrite, which starred Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei. In the years that followed, she appeared in television productions including the Hulu comedy series Difficult People in 2017 and the Showtime drama series Billions in 2018.

Her Broadway debut came in 2019 with the Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Tennessee Williams's The Rose Tattoo, in which she appeared opposite Marisa Tomei. The production marked her entry into professional stage performance.

On television, Rubin expanded her profile with a recurring role as Bianca Breer in the HBO Max series Gossip Girl, which ran from 2021 to 2023. She also appeared in the Netflix comedy series The Chair in 2021 and portrayed Natalie Gibson in the Hulu limited series The Girl from Plainville in 2022, which starred Elle Fanning.

Her film work continued with the 2023 coming-of-age surrealist comedy The Sweet East, directed by Sean Price Williams. In 2024, she had a supporting role in the Prime Video romantic comedy The Idea of You, led by Anne Hathaway, and played the character Vera in Sean Baker's film Anora, starring Mikey Madison. In 2025, she took on the lead role of Clover Paul in the horror film Until Dawn.
