About

Elizabeth Reller (December 4, 1913 – July 14, 1974) was an American actress whose career spanned stage, Broadway, and radio from 1935 to 1948. Born in Richmond, Indiana, she came from a Quaker family with deep roots in Wayne County, Indiana, dating to the county's early history.

Reller developed an interest in performance during her secondary education, participating in the Dramatic Club at Morton High School. She pursued formal training at Swarthmore College for two years before continuing her studies abroad, graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in England in 1935.

Her Broadway career took place between 1938 and 1939, during which she appeared in two productions. She performed in Abe Lincoln in Illinois in 1938 and Day in the Sun in 1939. Beyond the stage, Reller built a substantial presence in radio, where she was best known for her work. Her radio credits included a supporting role on The Amazing Mr. Smith and a role on Joe Powers of Oakville, among other programs.

In 1944, Reller married Dr. F. B. Warrick, a physician, in New York City. The couple relocated to Richmond, Indiana, in 1948, at which point she retired from acting. Following her retirement, Reller taught a class at the local Religious Society of Friends church and spoke on religious subjects at gatherings throughout Richmond. She and her husband served as lay leaders at religious retreats held at various locations across the United States. She was also a participant in Richmond's Meals on Wheels program.

Reller died on July 14, 1974, at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana, at the age of 60.
