Elijah Rhea Johnson

Elijah Rhea Johnson, born June 24, 1998, in Detroit, Michigan, is an American actor and singer whose career spans child performance, recording, and Broadway. He began performing at a young age, taking on the role of Young Simba in both the Las Vegas and touring productions of The Lion King. Johnson also served as lead singer of the Kidz Bop crew through 2013 and released the single "Meet Me on the Dance Floor" as part of his early solo work.

In April 2014, Johnson joined the boy band Mindless Behavior, becoming a member alongside Princeton and Mike River following the departure of Ray Ray. The reconstituted trio released their debut album as the new lineup, #OfficialMBMusic, in June 2016. The record reached number 100 on the Billboard Year End Chart. That same period saw the group participate in the film Misguided Behavior, which was released in 2017, the same year the group disbanded. Johnson had also anticipated releasing a solo EP by the end of 2017.

From 2019 to 2020, Johnson was a member of the hip-hop collective Grouptherapy, performing under the mononym Rhea. In 2022, he appeared in the BET film The Millennial.

Johnson made his Broadway debut in 2022 in MJ the Musical, the production centered on the life and music of Michael Jackson. On April 4, 2023, he stepped into the title role of Michael Jackson/MJ, replacing Myles Frost in the production.
