Edwin Hodge

Edwin Martel Basil Hodge was born on January 26, 1985, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to Aldis Basil Hodge and Yolette Evangeline Richardson. He was raised in New York. His mother is originally from Florida and his father from St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Both parents served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Hodge is the older brother of actor Aldis Hodge.

Hodge appeared on Broadway in 1994 in the musical Show Boat. His stage work preceded a career in film and television that would span multiple decades and genres.

In film, Hodge is recognized for his role in the horror franchise The Purge, appearing in all three of the series' initial installments. He portrayed a character billed as "the Bloody Stranger" in The Purge (2013) and The Purge: Anarchy (2014), with the character revealed to be named Dante Bishop in The Purge: Election Year (2016). He also appeared in the horror film As Above, So Below (2014).

On television, Hodge played firefighter Rick Newhouse on Chicago Fire and guest starred on episodes of both One Tree Hill and Leverage, the latter starring his younger brother Aldis Hodge. In 2019, he joined the cast of the Apple TV+ science fiction series For All Mankind in its first season, playing Clayton Poole, husband of NASA astronaut Danielle Poole. Beginning in 2022, Hodge has portrayed Special Agent Ray Cannon on the CBS series FBI: Most Wanted.

On June 29, 2024, Hodge married actress Skye P. Marshall at Carondelet House in Los Angeles.
