Edgar Barrier (March 4, 1907 – June 20, 1964) was an American actor born in New York City whose career spanned radio, stage, and screen. He died in Hollywood, California from a heart attack.
Barrier's Broadway career extended from 1928 to 1946 and included appearances in Pleasure Man, Danton's Death, The Broken Chain, Bitter Oleander, and Lost Boy, among other productions. His credited stage roles include Lord Douglas in Mary of Scotland (1933), Auguste in Idiot's Delight (1936), and Mr. Justice Brandeis in The Magnificent Yankee (1946).
During the 1930s, Barrier was a member of Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre. He appeared in two films directed by or starring Welles: Journey into Fear (1943) and Macbeth (1948). He also had a role in the Welles-directed short Too Much Johnson (1938), a film long considered lost until its rediscovery in 2013.
On radio, Barrier was among the actors who portrayed Simon Templar in the series The Saint. He also appeared as a guest star in several episodes of Disney's Zorro, playing the recurring character Don Cornelio Esperon.
