Born Dulcie Winifred Catherine Bailey on November 20, 1915, in Kuala Lumpur, British Malaya, Dulcie Gray trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, where she met Michael Denison. The two married in 1939. She shared the stage with her husband on the West End 28 times and appeared in five films with him.
A prolific writer, Dulcie Gray authored roughly two dozen murder mysteries alongside an autobiography, Looking Forward, Looking Back. She and Michael Denison co-published An Actor and His World; her other works include Butterflies on My Mind.
