About

Drew Lachey, born Andrew John Lachey on August 8, 1976, in Cincinnati, Ohio, is an American singer, actor, and television personality. He is the younger brother of singer Nick Lachey and a member of the pop group 98 Degrees, which also included Justin Jeffre and Jeff Timmons. Before pursuing a career in entertainment, Lachey served as a combat medic in the United States Army and worked as an emergency medical technician in New York City, among other jobs including deli work and camp counseling. He attended Clovernook Elementary School in North College Hill, Ohio, before enrolling at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in the Cincinnati public school district.

Lachey's Broadway career spanned from 1996 to 2005 and included two notable productions. He portrayed Mark Cohen in Rent, performing in the show from January 3 to March 21, 2005. In June 2008, he joined the Broadway company of Monty Python's Spamalot, playing Patsy, the faithful manservant to King Arthur, and remained with the production for three months.

Beyond Broadway, Lachey became widely recognized as a contestant on the second season of Dancing with the Stars, partnered with professional dancer Cheryl Burke. During the sixth week of competition, the pair earned a perfect score of 30 for their tango. In the final week, they scored 30 on both their Paso Doble and freestyle performances and were crowned champions on February 26, 2006. Lachey later returned to the series in its fifteenth season as part of the All-Stars cast, this time partnered with Anna Trebunskaya, and was the third couple eliminated. He also co-hosted the first three weeks of the fifth season, temporarily filling in for Samantha Harris during her maternity leave, and made additional guest appearances on the show in subsequent seasons.

In April 2006, Lachey co-hosted the Miss USA pageant alongside Nancy O'Dell of Access Hollywood, broadcast live on NBC from Baltimore, Maryland. He also made a guest appearance on Hollywood Squares in 2001 and appeared on his brother Nick's MTV series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. In 2010, Lachey played Corny Collins in a production of Hairspray at Pittsburgh's Benedum Center and served as a guest host for The Price Is Right Live in Las Vegas in August of that year. In May 2019, he competed in the eleventh season of American Ninja Warrior, entering the Cincinnati city course, where he was eliminated on the second obstacle; the episode aired on July 8, 2019.

Lachey married Lea Dellecave on October 14, 2000. The two were childhood and high school sweethearts, and Dellecave served as choreographer and dancer for 98 Degrees. The couple has a daughter, born March 23, 2006, in Los Angeles, and a son, born May 15, 2010, in Cincinnati. Together they operate a performing arts day camp in the Cincinnati area.
