Dori Brenner, born Dori Levine on December 16, 1946, in Manhattan, New York, was an American actress whose work spanned Broadway, film, and television. She died on September 16, 2000, in Los Angeles, California, from complications from cancer, and was buried at Beth David Cemetery.
Brenner pursued her education at Sarah Lawrence College and subsequently at the Yale School of Drama. She came from a family with notable professional accomplishments: her oldest sister, Ellen Levine, was an author, and her other sister, Mada Levine Liebman, served as a senior advisor to U.S. Senators Frank Lautenberg and Jon Corzine.
Her Broadway career included an appearance in 1971, in which she played the role of Epstein. On screen, her film debut came with Summer Wishes, Winter Dreams, and she went on to appear in Altered States, Next Stop, Greenwich Village, and For the Boys. Her television work included regular roles on Seventh Avenue, The Charmings, and Ned and Stacey, as well as a recurring role as the neighbor on Who's the Boss. Among her personal connections in the entertainment world, Brenner was a close friend of Bette Davis.
