He went on to work for the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, DC, and served as executive director of Actors' Equity Association from 1973 to 1980. He married Judith Anderson; their sons are Dion, Gordon, James, Jeremy, and Patrick. Film credits include "Heart of Spider" and "Last Call." Television credits include "Independent Lens," "Law & Order," and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."
