Born Dorcas Marie Nowell on April 7, 1925, in Old Westbury, New York, Doe Avedon was first married to photographer Richard Avedon, then to actor Dan Mathews, and finally to director Don Siegel, with whom she had four children. Her film credits include "The High and the Mighty," "Deep in My Heart," "Love Streams," and "The Boss." On television she appeared in "Big Town," "Climax!," "Alcoa Theatre," and "The Ford Television Theatre." The 1957 Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire film "Funny Face" is based on the story of Doe Avedon and Richard Avedon.
