DeWitt Clarke Jennings was an American stage and film actor born on June 21, 1871, in Cameron, Missouri, to Georgia S. and Oliver A. Jennings. He died on March 1, 1937, in Hollywood, California.
Jennings maintained an active presence on Broadway from 1906 to 1920, appearing in 17 productions over that span. His stage credits included The Struggle Everlasting, The Warrens of Virginia, The Blue Flame, The Red Dawn, and The Woman in Room 13.
Alongside his theatrical work, Jennings built a substantial screen career, appearing in more than 150 films between 1915 and 1937. Among his later film roles, he portrayed Sailing Master Fryer in the 1935 production Mutiny on the Bounty, which starred Clark Gable and Charles Laughton.
