Deven May

Deven Shaw May was born on April 3, 1971, in Whittier, California. He is an actor, Broadway performer, and professional photographer.

May is widely recognized for his portrayal of the half-bat, half-human title character in Laurence O'Keefe's Off-Broadway musical Bat Boy. The role earned him a Theatre World Award for Outstanding New York Debut in 2001, along with nominations for the Drama Desk Award and the Lucille Lortel Award. He subsequently brought the same role to London, performing as Bat Boy at the Shaftesbury Theatre.

His Broadway credits include Jersey Boys, the Tony Award-winning musical, in which he appeared beginning in 2006. May played the role of Tommy DeVito in the National Tour production of the show before reprising the character with the Las Vegas company, which performed at The Paris Hotel after previously playing at The Palazzo. He remained with the Las Vegas production for seven years, concluding his run on November 23, 2014.

In addition to his stage work, May has appeared in the films Temptation and Fabled. He also pursues a career as a professional photographer alongside his work in theatre and film.
