About

Delores Hall is an American stage and television actress whose Broadway career spanned from 1968 to 1982. She made her Broadway debut as a replacement in the ensemble of Hair, having first joined the production as an original member of its Los Angeles company beginning in 1968, a run that continued through at least the summer of 1969. In that production, Hall opened the show wearing signature pigtails and singing "Aquarius." Her connection to Hair extended into 1971, when she performed "Aquarius" and "The Lord's Prayer" at the show's birthday celebration held at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York, a performance captured on the album Divine Hair / Mass in F.

From 1972, Hall appeared in Godspell on and off for approximately two years, performing "Bless The Lord" and following it with an a cappella encore. That same year she played the role of Bread in the musical Dude. She subsequently performed in the original musical revues The Night That Made America Famous and Your Arms Too Short to Box with God, the latter earning her the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical in 1977. Hall went on to star as Jewel in the original New York production of The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Outside of theatre, Hall recorded two studio albums. Her debut LP, Hall-Mark, was released in 1973 on RCA Records and produced by Billy Jackson. A second self-titled album followed in 1979 on Capitol Records, produced by Robert Thiele Jr. and Mark Kamins for Coco Rose Productions.

Hall also built a screen career across film and television. Her first film appearance was in Scrooged in 1988. She played a security guard named Delores in Lethal Weapon 3 in 1992 and portrayed Ornella in Leap of Faith that same year. On television, she was a series regular during the first two seasons of Diagnosis: Murder, playing the recurring character Delores Mitchell.
