David Lythgoe

David Lythgoe, born around 1880, was an American performer whose career spanned both the Broadway stage and early silent film. His work in theater came first, with appearances on Broadway between 1902 and 1904, followed by a transition to motion pictures in the following decade.

Lythgoe's Broadway career included three productions during its brief run. He appeared in the musicals Mr. Wix of Wickham and The Wild Rose, as well as the production Miss Simplicity, with all three credits falling within his two-year span on the New York stage.

By the early 1910s, Lythgoe had moved into silent film, working primarily in short-form productions between 1912 and 1915. Much of this work was completed under the direction of Tom Ricketts. During this period he appeared alongside a number of notable performers of the era, including Charlotte Burton, William Garwood, Vivian Rich, Harry von Meter, and Louise Lester.

Among the films in which Lythgoe appeared were She Never Knew, The Echo, and The Two Sentences. His filmography from 1915 alone included At the Edge of Things, The Altar of Ambition, In the Sunlight, The Poet of the Peaks, She Walketh Alone, The Day of Reckoning, In the Heart of the Woods, The Two Sentences, The Echo, and She Never Knew.
