Danielle Ferland is an American actress and singer born on January 31, 1971, in Derby, Connecticut. She attended Frank Scott Bunnell High School in Stratford, Connecticut, from 1985 to 1989, and later studied at New York University.

Ferland made her Broadway debut at age thirteen, playing Louise in Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George in 1984. Three years later, she originated the role of Little Red Ridinghood in Sondheim's Into the Woods, a performance that earned her the 1988 Theatre World Award and a 1988 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical. In 1989, she reunited with the original Into the Woods cast for three performances that were filmed for the Season 10 premiere episode of PBS's American Playhouse. Also in 1987, Ferland appeared as the singing child star in Woody Allen's film Radio Days.

Her stage work outside of Broadway includes an off-Broadway appearance in Paradise! in 1985, The Crucible in 1991, Uncommon Women and Others in 1994, Tartuffe at the Delacorte Theatre in 1999, Engaged in 2004, She Stoops to Conquer at the Irish Repertory Company in 2005, the concert and recording of the York Theatre production of Summer of '42 in 2006, and Like Love at the New York Music Festival in 2007. Her Broadway credits also include the role of Fredrika in the Lincoln Center Revival of A Little Night Music in 1991, A Year with Frog and Toad in 2003, A Little Hotel on the Side, and All My Sons in 2008. In 2012, she returned to Into the Woods in the Baltimore CenterStage and Westport Country Playhouse production, this time playing the Baker's Wife.

Ferland has contributed to the Sondheim Unplugged concert series since 2010, performing on each of its first three recorded volumes. Her contributions include "Children and Art" and "Hello Little Girl" on the second volume and "It Takes Two" on the third. Sondheim Unplugged NYC Sessions Volume 3 received a Grammy nomination for the 2024 ceremony. She has also narrated an audio book version of A Mile in My Flip-Flops by Melody Carlson.

Her television and film work includes the role of Estelle in HBO's The Normal Heart in 2014, an appearance in Season 1 of the Netflix series Marvel's Jessica Jones in 2015, and a role in Lin-Manuel Miranda's 2021 film adaptation of Jonathan Larson's Tick, Tick… Boom!. Ferland has also taught master classes, including at the Boston Children's Theatre in 2009, and directed that organization's production of A Year with Frog and Toad in 2011. She married Michael Goldstein around 2002, and they have two sons.
