Damon Daunno

Damon Daunno is an American actor, singer, musician, and composer born on November 28, 1984. He grew up in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, having been born in Newark. His secondary education began at Glen Ridge High School before he transferred to the Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut, where he completed his studies. He subsequently enrolled at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in 2006 with a BFA in drama.

Daunno launched his recording career on October 18, 2010, with a debut three-song EP of original music titled "Adulterated Trappings." His musical influences include Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, and in March 2011 he performed a tribute concert for Buckley at New York's Knitting Factory. During that period he also held a performance residency at Niagara NYC.

His stage career encompasses both off-Broadway and Broadway work spanning from 2010 to 2019. Among his Broadway credits are Brief Encounter and Oklahoma!. He originated the role of Orpheus in the off-Broadway production of Hadestown at New York Theatre Workshop, which ran from May 6 to July 31, 2016, and appears on that production's cast recording.

Daunno's most prominent Broadway role came in the 2019 revival of Oklahoma!, in which he played Curly McLain. The performance earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, both in 2019. The production's cast recording also brought him a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

In August 2020, Daunno appeared on the soundtrack Broadway Sings Blood Rock: The Musical alongside Andy Mientus, Jennifer DiNoia, and Robert Torti.

Daunno met British actress Kirsty Woodward in 2014 while performing at the Kneehigh Theatre Company. The two married in Brooklyn, New York in 2018 and divorced in 2025.
