Crystal Lucas-Perry

Crystal Lucas-Perry is an American actress, singer, songwriter, and producer whose Broadway work spans both musical revival and new play. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Western Michigan University in 2010 and her Master of Fine Arts from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2013.

Lucas-Perry made her Broadway debut in September 2022, taking on the role of John Adams in the musical revival of 1776. Later that same year, she appeared in a second Broadway production when Jordan E. Cooper's sketch-play Ain't No Mo' transferred to Broadway in December 2022. Her involvement with that production predated its Broadway run; she had been part of the cast for its Off-Broadway premiere in 2019. Among the roles she played in Ain't No Mo' was a convict preparing for release from prison, a performance that drew notable critical attention.

Although Ain't No Mo' did not achieve commercial success during its Broadway run, it received six Tony Award nominations. Lucas-Perry was among those recognized, earning a 2023 Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for her work in the production.
