About
Colin Hanlon is an American actor originally from Pennsylvania who has been active on Broadway from 1996 to 2016. He holds a BFA in Drama from Syracuse University.
Hanlon began his career appearing in numerous commercials before transitioning to theatre. His Broadway credits include Rent, Falsettos, In Transit, and Wicked. In Rent, he took on the roles of Gordon, Mark, and Roger at various points during his time with the production. Beyond Broadway, he performed the role of Fiyero in the national tour of Wicked.
His off-Broadway work includes playing Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance and Austin Bennett in I Love You Because. He also appeared in the world premiere of Edges. In 2015, Hanlon portrayed Pete in the new play The 12 at the Denver Center, a performance for which he received a Henry Award.
On screen, Hanlon is known for his role as Tim Trull in the web series Submissions Only, which ran for three seasons. He also appeared as Steven on the television series Modern Family.
