About

Clyde Fillmore, born Clyde Fogle on October 25, 1874, in McConnelsville, Ohio, was an American actor whose career spanned both stage and screen. He died on December 19, 1946.

Fillmore established himself in the theater before transitioning to film, making his screen debut in 1918 at the age of 43. Among his early film work, he appeared in the 1920 silent picture The Devil's Pass Key, directed by Erich von Stroheim, a production that is now considered a lost film. As the industry shifted to sound, Fillmore continued to take on character roles, a number of which went uncredited.

His Broadway career extended from 1925 to 1939 and encompassed a range of productions. His credits include the musical Too Many Girls as well as The Primrose Path, Angel Island, Tide Rising, and Pre-Honeymoon, among additional stage appearances during that period.
