About
Clark Tippet was an American ballet dancer and choreographer born on October 5, 1954, in Parsons, Kansas. He became a member of American Ballet Theatre, the New York City-based company, and appeared on Broadway with the organization in 1975.
Among his notable roles with American Ballet Theatre, Tippet performed as the male Spanish dancer in Mikhail Baryshnikov's staging of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. That production was broadcast on television for the first time in 1977.
Tippet died of HIV/AIDS on January 28, 1992, in Parsons, Kansas, at the age of 37.
