Christopher Neame is an English actor born on 12 September 1947 in London, England, who later emigrated to the United States. He appeared on Broadway in 1974 in As You Like It.
Neame began his screen career in the United Kingdom, with early film roles including No Blade of Grass (1970) and two Hammer Horror productions, Lust for a Vampire (1971) and Dracula AD 1972 (1972). His British television work encompassed a range of period and genre productions. He portrayed Sydney Wing in an episode of The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes titled "The Secret of the Magnifique," and took on the role of Lieutenant Dick Player in the BBC drama Colditz, which ran from 1972 to 1974. In 1973 he appeared in the television film A Point in Time, and in 1975 he played Kaiser Wilhelm II across all thirteen episodes of ITV's Edward the Seventh. He went on to portray Flight Lieutenant John Curtis in the first season of the BBC's World War II series Secret Army in 1977, and in 1979 took the role of the villain Skagra in the unfinished Doctor Who serial Shada, later providing his voice to complete the serial through animation in 2017. Additional British television credits include a guest appearance in When the Boat Comes In in 1981 as Robin Cunningham, and the role of Mark Antony in the BBC series The Cleopatras in 1983.
Following his move to the United States, Neame built an extensive career in American film and television. His film appearances include Steel Dawn (1987), D.O.A. (1988), Bloodstone (1988), Licence to Kill (1989), Ghostbusters II (1989), Edge of Honor (1991), Suburban Commando (1991), Hellbound (1994), Ground Zero (2000), and The Prestige (2006). In 1985 he played a psycho killer in an episode of MacGyver, and he also appeared in The Great Escape II: The Untold Story. During the twelfth season of Dallas in 1989, he portrayed Swedish businessman Gustav Hellstrom across three episodes: "Serpent's Tooth," "April Showers," and "And Away We Go." In 1994 he played "Knight Two" in the Babylon 5 episode "And the Sky Full of Stars" and starred in the Showtime film Street Knight. That same year he appeared in Northern Exposure, and in 1995 he had a role in JAG. He appeared in the two-part miniseries The Apocalypse Watch in 1996, and in 1997 played the main villain in the live-action cutscenes of the video game Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II. In 2004 he appeared in the two-part Star Trek: Enterprise story "Storm Front" and "Storm Front, Part II," and in 2000 he portrayed "The One" in the final two episodes of Martial Law. Other American television credits include Dynasty, The A-Team, Benson, Beauty and the Beast, and Earth 2. Neame is among a small number of actors to have appeared in Doctor Who, Blake's 7, the Star Trek franchise, Babylon 5, and Earth 2. In 2018 he appeared in House of the Gorgon alongside his former Hammer film co-star Caroline Munro.
