Christopher Bowen is a British actor born on 20 October 1959 in England. He received his education at the Cathedral School in Llandaff, Radley College, and Magdalene College at Cambridge University, before pursuing professional training at the Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol.

Bowen's stage career includes three years with the Royal Shakespeare Company during the 1980s, the period in which he also made his Broadway appearances in 1984, with credits including Cyrano de Bergerac and Much Ado About Everything. His additional theatre work spans a range of classical and contemporary productions: the title role in Macbeth at the Southwark Playhouse, Laertes in Hamlet at the Young Vic, Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream for the City of London Festival, Maecenas in Antony and Cleopatra at the Haymarket Theatre, and Veit Kunz in Franziska at the Gate Theatre.

On screen, Bowen portrayed Commander Day in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies and appeared as Charles Fairford in Cold Comfort Farm, directed by John Schlesinger. He played the Prince of Wales in Richard III and Hamilton in Gaudi Afternoon, directed by Susan Seidelman. He also starred in the title role of an unaired pilot of Darkman.

His television work includes Mr. Briggs in the BBC production of Jane Eyre, Alastair Campbell in the Channel 4 film Why We Went to War, and Richard Carey in the Poirot episode Murder in Mesopotamia. He played Mordred in the Doctor Who serial Battlefield and John Dexter in Tanamera – Lion of Singapore. Additional television appearances include Dempsey and Makepeace, Knights of God, Little Lord Fauntleroy, Waiting for God, Holby City, Castles, Peak Practice, Heartbeat, Doctors, and Rosemary & Thyme.
