Christine McMahon Sherrill is an American actress and singer whose career has centered on musical theatre, with work spanning regional productions in the Chicago area and a Broadway debut in the 2023–2025 revival of Mamma Mia!
Sherrill attended Streamwood High School before pursuing higher education in music. She earned a degree in music education from Northern Illinois University and later a master of education from Saint Xavier University, having originally planned to work as a music therapist.
Her regional theatre career established her as a prominent figure in the Chicago area. She received three Jeff Award nominations, winning Best Lead Actress in a Musical in 2013 for her portrayal of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard at the Drury Lane Oakbrook Terrace Theatre. Her other nominations came for playing Lina Lamont in Singin' in the Rain and for the role of Celeste in the original musical Once Upon a Time in New Jersey at the Marriott Theatre. In 2015, she appeared in the musical version of First Wives Club alongside Carmen Cusack and Faith Prince.
Before her Broadway engagement, Sherrill performed the role of Donna Sheridan on the North American Tour of Mamma Mia!, a credit that preceded her appearance in the same role in the 2025 Broadway revival. Her Broadway run with the production spanned 2023 to 2025.
Sherrill is married to Nick Placek, and the couple has three sons.
