Christiani Pitts

Christiani Pitts is an American actress, singer, and dancer whose Broadway career spans from 2016 to 2025. Her father is Byron Pitts, anchor of ABC's Nightline. After beginning her work in theatre in Atlanta and New Jersey, she relocated to New York City following her graduation from Florida State University.

Pitts made her Broadway debut in 2017 as a member of the ensemble in A Bronx Tale The Musical, later stepping into the role of Jane as a replacement. She went on to originate the role of Ann Darrow in King Kong on Broadway, a production that ran from 2018 to 2019. She was identified as the first woman of color to portray the character. Slate described Pitts as "a wonder herself, a rawly funny actor with a five-alarm voice," while Observer characterized her performance as "wooden."

In April 2025, Pitts was cast as Robin in the American premiere of Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) at the American Repertory Theater. Pitts stated that she was drawn to the role because "this is a Black woman who gets to explore [wanting to be happy] without any severe trauma or pain attached to it." The Bay State Banner described her performance as charismatic and said it added "dimension" to the character, while New York Stage Review noted she "pitches in with tenderness in her solos, and lightning-fast timing when it's called for." That same August, Pitts played Hannah in a production of Come From Away at The Cape Playhouse.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) subsequently transferred to Broadway with Pitts reprising her role as Robin. The production began previews at the Longacre Theatre on November 1, 2025, and opened on November 20, 2025.
