About
Christian Hoff is an American actor born on April 21, 1968, in San Francisco, California. His family later relocated to San Diego, where at age eight he began training at the San Diego Junior Theater. Among his earliest stage roles was Winthrop in The Music Man. His Broadway career spanned from 1993 to 2008.
Hoff's most prominent Broadway credit is the original cast production of Jersey Boys, which opened at the August Wilson Theatre in 2005. He remained with the production until 2008, playing Tommy DeVito, one of the founding members of the Four Seasons. The performance earned him the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2006. His additional Broadway credits include The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, The Who's Tommy, and Jesus Christ Superstar, in which he played King Herod. He was cast in the title role of Joey Evans in the Roundabout Theatre's 2008 production of Pal Joey but was forced to leave the production during previews due to an injury.
Beyond Broadway, Hoff has worked in television, including a guest appearance as Marty on All My Children. He also holds a world record for the most character voices performed in a single audiobook, having voiced 241 separate characters in Tell Me How You Love the Picture, a work based on the career of film producer Ed Feldman. He is additionally a member of The Midtown Men, a group composed of four former Jersey Boys cast members who perform music from the 1960s.
Hoff is married to actress Melissa Hoff. Together they have three daughters, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Ella. He also has two children, Eli and Erika, from a previous marriage.
