Chris Shyer, also credited as Christopher Shyer, is a Canadian-American actor whose career spans Broadway, film, and television. His stage and screen work extends across more than 100 film and television roles, with Broadway appearances from 2001 to 2025.

Shyer's Broadway credits include the role of Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia!, four supporting roles in The Book of Mormon, and Governor John Slaton in the 2025 production of Parade. He also appeared on Broadway in Going Down Swingin' as Dean Newhouse. Prior to his Broadway work, Shyer performed in several Canadian productions, among them Miss Saigon, Les Misérables in the roles of Joly and as understudy for Marius Pontmercy, The Phantom of the Opera as Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny, Assassins as John Wilkes Booth, and Sunset Boulevard as Artie Green. He additionally played four supporting roles in the US tour of The Book of Mormon and Governor John Slaton in the 2025 US tour of Parade.

On television, Shyer has accumulated guest appearances since 1994 across series including Viper, The New Outer Limits, Smallville, Monk, JAG, CSI: Miami, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He held a recurring role in The Practice, portraying the character Lawrence O'Malley. He also appeared in a supporting role in the ABC reimagining of V, playing Marcus, the second-in-command to the V high commander Anna, portrayed by Morena Baccarin.

His film work includes The Falling in 1998 as Lars, The Invitation in 2003 as Joel Gellman, The Lazarus Child in 2004 as John Boyd, Fierce People in 2005 as Dr. Leffler, and Big Bad Wolf in 2006 as Charlie Cowley.
