About

Chris Diamantopoulos is a Canadian actor born on May 9, 1975, in Toronto, Ontario, to Greek immigrant parents. His mother is from Ioannina and his father is from Peloponnese, and he grew up dividing his time between Canada and Greece. A fluent Greek speaker and practicing member of the Greek Orthodox Church, he attended East York Collegiate Institute. His professional career began at age nine in television commercials and theatre productions, and at eighteen he left Canada to perform in American national tours before transitioning to Broadway.

His Broadway work spans from 1987 to 2016 and includes appearances in Andrew Lloyd Webber - Music of the Night, Les Misérables, and Waitress, as well as a starring role in The Full Monty. The external record places his Full Monty credit in 2002 and his Les Misérables credit in 2003, with Waitress following in 2017.

Beyond the stage, Diamantopoulos has built an extensive screen career across film and television. He portrayed Moe Howard in the 2012 film The Three Stooges and played Frank Sinatra in The Kennedys. On the HBO series Silicon Valley, he played Russ Hanneman, and he starred in the television series Good Girls Revolt. He portrayed Robin Williams in Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Mork & Mindy alongside Erinn Hayes, and played U.S. President Allison Taylor's Chief of Staff Rob Weiss in the eighth season of 24.

Diamantopoulos held recurring roles on several NBC sitcoms, including Up All Night, where he played Julian, Maya Rudolph's on-and-off lover, and Arrested Development, where he appeared as Marky, Lindsay's face-blind environmentalist boyfriend. He also recurred on The Office as Brian, a former member of the documentary film crew, and appeared in Episodes as TV network boss Castor Sotto and in the television adaptation of About a Boy as Mr. Chris. He had a recurring role on State of Mind and guest-starred on series including The Sopranos, Charmed, Kevin Hill, Nip/Tuck, and Boston Legal, and guest-voiced on American Dad! in 2009.

Beginning in 2013, Diamantopoulos voiced Mickey Mouse in the television series of the same name and its follow-up, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, for which he received two Emmy Award nominations. His approach gave the character a voice similar to that of Walt Disney. He reprised the role in the 2023 short film Once Upon a Studio, produced to mark the centennial of The Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Animation Studios. He has also contributed voice work to multiple characters in the Prime Video animated series Invincible.

Diamantopoulos met actress Becki Newton at a subway station in New York City, and the two married in 2005. They have four children: a son born in November 2010, and daughters born in 2014, 2020, and 2022. He has an upcoming starring role alongside Tom Blyth in the comedy Discussion Materials, adapted from Bill Keenan's memoir of the same name.
